Purposeful learning, joyful childhood

What parents want to understand

Parents comparing child care, preschool and kindergarten options often want to know how their child will learn, play and prepare for primary school. Dloving is a child care centre, and our programme combines dependable daily care with strong learning foundations for ages 4–7.

We take learning seriously without treating childhood as a race. English phonics, regular one-to-one reading and guided worksheet practice build strong academic foundations, while play, creativity, movement and hands-on experiences keep childhood joyful.

Learning foundations

A balanced programme for ages 4–7

English

English learning includes speaking, reading, writing and phonics, helping children connect letters with sounds and approach unfamiliar words.

Mandarin

Creative activities support speaking, reading and writing at an age-appropriate level.

Bahasa Melayu

Bahasa Melayu learning includes suku kata, helping children break words into syllables and read unfamiliar words with growing confidence.

Mathematics and science

Early numeracy, thinking and discovery build useful foundations for later classroom learning.

One-to-one reading

Regular individual storybook reading in English, Bahasa Melayu and Mandarin helps each child build vocabulary, fluency and confidence at an appropriate pace.

Guided worksheet practice

Age-appropriate worksheets give children focused practice, reinforce what they have learned and build confidence with classroom routines.

Character and independence

Moral values, practical routines and caring for belongings are developed alongside academic foundations.

Art and craft

Drawing, painting, cutting and making help children express ideas while developing fine-motor skills, focus, coordination and confidence.

Academic learning and joyful childhood

Focused teaching, individual support and time to play

Dloving combines three elements many parents look for: clear phonics teaching, regular one-to-one reading and guided worksheet practice. These sit within a wider programme where children also learn through conversation, art, movement, imagination, practical routines and play.

English phonics

Children connect letters with sounds and practise using those patterns to approach unfamiliar words.

One-to-one reading

Individual reading time allows guidance to match each child's current confidence and pace.

Worksheet practice

Guided, age-appropriate practice reinforces learning and helps children become comfortable completing focused tasks.

How children learn

Active, varied and connected to real life

Focused lessons are balanced with thematic and hands-on learning. Themes connect vocabulary, general knowledge, simple science, stories and games around topics children can understand and remember. Activities may include art and craft, drawing, taekwondo, Zumba and robotics.

Past experiences include water play, animal visits, performances, celebrations, outings and robotics. In one robotics class, children explored how to make a robot brush teeth—turning a familiar daily routine into a playful problem-solving activity. These are representative examples rather than promises that every activity happens each year.

Twice-yearly parent meetings and direct communication help families understand their child's progress.

Creative development

Art and craft matter in childhood

Creative activities are enjoyable, but they also have an important role in development. Children practise controlling small hand movements, coordinating what they see and do, concentrating on a task and trying different ways to bring an idea to life.

There is no single “right” result. Making something of their own helps children express themselves, make choices and build confidence in their abilities.
